So we are learning Spanish in my household
and hence are learning about all the Spanish-speaking countries,
starting with our neighbor,
Mexico.

- Flag: green, white, and red with an eagle
- Important Cultural/Official Holidays:
Dia de los Muertos
Cinco de Mayo/Dia de la Batalla de Puebla - May 5
Grito de Delores/Dia de la Independencia (Mexican Independence Day) - Sept. 16
La Comida
- Cuisine: known for chiles, tortilla dishes, and beans as a major source of protein!
- Major agriculture: corn (maiz), sugarcane, rice, coffee beans
fruits including tomatoes, avocadoes, bananas, pineapples, and mangoes
vegetables including peppers (many different kinds!)
